Here is a list of the main upcoming Masters competitions which Otter will have a presence at. If you're new to swimming, or have recently returned, and fancy having a go at a competition, we would recommend the Barnet meets. The trek to north London is sometimes a trial, but they are friendly and well run competitions, which offer the opportunity to swim in as few/many races as you want. They also have the added bonus of offering prize money, in the form of vouchers, which can be spent at the on-site swim shop (as long as you catch them before they rush off), and if you enter the distance events, you're pretty much guaranteed to rake it in!

Club Events
The Handicap and Club Championship races are an integral part of Otter. The object of the handicap races is to give every swimmer in the club the opportunity to win one of the trophies donated to the club over the years. Handicaps are swum from a staggered start, with the slower swimmers going first and the fastest last. For both the handicap and club championship races, points are awarded for each race swum and these accumulate, with the person with the most points winning the Handicap and Club Championship trophies.
Otter has a tradition of swimming against a number of the public schools around London. These give all club swimmers the chance to race in a friendly environment, and provide the added incentive of a slap up tea afterwards. There is normally a water polo match following the swims, which a mix of polo players and swimmers play in.
